For the past two years, I’ve been working solely in Wi-Fi projects from SMB to Large corporations. During this period, I’ve seen that whenever any customer wants to meet their requirements and they don’t have a good technical background on Wi-Fi, they only remember that coverage everywhere would help them to meet their requirements. As we know, that’s not the right way to proceed and that’s where we come in with our knowledge. Getting them to understand how Wi-Fi really works, focusing on details that meet their requirements (we don’t need to go through everything about Wi-Fi) is key to the success of the project. On my presentation, I’ll go through the design process, requirements’ gathering and different ways to explain the details of the technology using analogies. Besides that, I’ll go through in at least four situations that I’ve been through where educating customers correctly and showing them that you, as a Wi-Fi Pro, are meeting their requirements and not overselling products or services that they don’t need, will help to build confidence and trust through the whole project, making them comfortable to invest to get it right at the first time.
The situations that I mentioned were:
– Troubleshooting Wi-Fi for a large corporate office that has Wi-Fi as a Primary Access (2x WLCs and 601x APs)
– Designing Wi-Fi for a large warehouse (2x WLCs and 110 APs)
– Consultancy for a School District during a Wi-Fi Challenge (Site Survey, RF Analysis and Best Practices)
– Moving from a SMB to Enterprise-level WLAN for a Home Wi-Fi (6x WLCs/APs)
