The presentation will start by introducing and discuss what OFDM provides today, then move on to what changes were made at phy to enable OFDMA operation. Then moving to MAC layer will discuss the new frames introduced (Trigger, etc) and how they are used to establish the OFDMA frame exchange process. We will demonstrate/discuss the OFDMA MU frame exchange process compared traditional frame exchange. We will then examine the future ‘compressed’ mode of operation. Will also discuss the advantages /disadvantages of MU-MIMO vs MU-OFDMA and primary use cases for each. Finish up with a timeline of IEEE/WFA status.
